PHC asks govt to decide PTI leaders’ pleas against Fourth Schedule nominations

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Thursday directed the provincial government to decide the petitions of several lawmakers-elect and PTI leaders against the recommendation of authorities to put their names in the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act. Disposing of those pleas, a bench consisting of Justice Shakeel Ahmad and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah referred the matter to the provincial additional chief secretary (home) for looking into their grievances as well as for decision in accordance with the law. PHC puts govt on notice over ‘harassment’ of PTI activists

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday issued notices to the provincial police chief and home secretary seeking their response to a petition about the alleged harassment of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf activists. A bench consisting of Justice Abdul Shakoor and Justice Syed Arshad Ali issued the order after holding a preliminary hearing into a petition jointly filed by Nadeem Khan and 230 other PTI activists, who accused the police of illegally raiding their houses and harassing them and their families. PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has directed the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments to restrict the activities of Afghan refugees in the country in line with the law of the land.
