Wiping the slate: PTI MPA challenges legitimacy of May 30 polls
PESHAWAR:Not only have re-elections at 365 polling stations been challenged through a petition at the Peshawar High Court, but the legitimacy of the entire process has been brought into question. Filed by PK-24 (Mardan) MPA Zahid Durrani through his counsel Muhammad Muazzam Butt, the petition claims both the elections and the re-elections are against the law. Durrani is a prominent leader of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The petition names the secretary of the provincial chief election commissioner as one of the respondents.
