Peshawar high court strikes down law on retirement age increase
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday declared unconstitutional the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government act of increasing retirement age of government servants from 60 to 63 years by amending the civil servants law. A bench consisting of Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth and Justice Mohammad Naeem Anwar accepted 10 petitions filed by lawyer Shabina Noor and people from other walks of life against the KP Civil Servants (Amendment) Act, 2019, through which the relevant provision of law was amended to increase the retirement age.
